WOW Program
HELP's Window on the World (WOW) Program is a fantastic tool for schools that will give students a chance to see worksites and careers they might otherwise never get to experience. Click one of the images below to see a short video of one of the listed occupations.
Welding
Hammons Employment Leadership Program (HELP) allows students to experience a day in the life of a welder. In this video, two HELP students try their hand at welding while being guided by professionals in the field.
Police Officer
Hammons Employment Leadership Program (HELP) allows students to gain real world experience in Law Enforcement by accompanying a Police Officer in his training. In this video, HELP students find out the requirements to join Corpus Christi Police force by participating in the training officers must do, including strength training, endurance training, and firearms training.
Medical Careers
Hammons Employment Leadership Program (HELP) allows students to experience a day with a medical professional. In this video, HELP students put on their scrubs and learn about a variety of aspects of the medical field including physical therapy and CT scans from professionals in the field.
Industrial Jobs
Hammons Employment Leadership Program (HELP) allows students to experience and explore oil and gas industry jobs. In this video, HELP students tour a variety of industrial plants and refineries and gain firsthand experience the different duties and roles that are required of oil and gas workers.
U.S. Coast Guard
Hammons Employment Leadership Programs (HELP) allows students to experience a career as a member of the US Coast Guard. In this video, HELP students are given a tour of the Corpus Christi Harbor Coast Guard Facility where they are shown the daily duties of a member of the Coast Guard and get to sit in the cockpit of a propeller plane.
Firefighter
Hammons Education Leadership Programs (HELP) allows students to experience the exciting careers in Firefighting. In this video, HELP students tour a fire station, learn about the different functions of a firetruck and don full fire-protective gear.
Electrician
Hammons Education Leadership Programs (HELP) allows students to experience a day in the life of an electrician. In this video, HELP students observe electricians at work and learn about the three different types of electricians: Residential, Commercial, and Industrial.
